Ms.Piggy is a super cute sweet girl who loves people including kids! She has been in a foster home with kids and other animals although she prefers to be the center of attention. She would do better with older kids because she forgets how strong she is. A big back yard to run would be best! We have been working on crate training and having her sit if she would like treats. There is nothing better than seeing her smile and wiggle her whole back end when she greets you! Ms.Piggy isn't the best leash walker and a little on the stubborn side but I'm sure could be bribed with treats. She also loves to carry things around the house so plenty of toys may help save your shoes!
Are you an experienced cat owner looking for a new friend? If so, you might just be Anubis's "furever" family. Anubis is a handsome boy with long black fur that looks a little bit like a lion's mane. Anubis has a playful side, he likes to bat at strings and pounce on play mice. But he also has a bit of couch potato in him, he likes to curl up somewhere cozy and take a snooze. Larry likes to have his head and ears scratched, but prefers your hand stops there - he doesn't like his back and tail touched. He is more the type of cat who comes to you rather than you coming to him; he does not like to be held, he'll sit in your lap if he wants to. His aloof behavior is more suited to experienced cat owners who live in adult only homes. Larry has a history of chewing things he's not supposed to, and will need to have plenty to keep him occupied. If you'd l...
Super cool Tom-Tom should be in doggie shampoo commercials. This sweet coonhound mix has the softest silkiest fur imaginable and he loves nothing more than for you to run your hands through it. For such a big dog, he's a bit of a snuggle bug. He sings for his supper, too, and just about anything else for that matter. As all hounds, Tom Tom is noisy, so he is not a good fit for apartment dwellers. But if you've got some space and you're in the market for a vocal companion, come check out Tom Tom at Howell Mill. He's there, warming up his vocals so he can sing a song of happiness with his new family!
Hi, I’m Delilah and I want to be your new best friend. My previous owner couldn’t keep me any longer and decided to give someone else a chance to get such a great CATch, me! I don’t take up much space and clean up after myself. I’ll bring all my own clothes and do my own laundry and grooming. Please come and meet me with any children or pets you have so we can make this a group decision. How about 1:45pm today at the Atlanta Humane Society’s Howell Mill Road Campus? I’ll put you down for that time. Don’t be late!
Meet our handsome Monroe! Monroe traveled all the way from a Mississippi shelter partner to take up residence in our Hotel Mansell! This adorable teenage fella is full of energy and excitement which reflects the characteristics of his hound/pointer bloodline. Monroe happily greets his handlers and any one who walks by his kennel. He is ready to entice anyone for an escape to the play yards for some fun and sun. The hound in Monroe takes over as his nose hits the ground and he sniffs his way to the play yard. This energetic boy needed several leash corrections to stop his pulling and couldn't curtail his excitement to be outside. In the play yard, Monroe delighted in playing with every toy in the run and enjoyed frolicking along the fence with fellow canine. After some playtime and investigating, Monroe checked in with his handler and propped his head in her lap to get belly rubs and ear scratches. Monroe has mastered the sit command but could use an expansion of his basic commands and some leash manner ref...
Hi there! My name is Scarlet and I'm a sweet older lady looking for a home to call my own. I'd love to join a family that can give me lots of food and toys and attention, as well as a safe warm bed to sleep in. In exchange I can provide loads of fun and a lifetime supply of love and loyalty. Like all new pets, I will need time to adjust to the rules of a new home so please be patient with me as I adjust to my new life. If you think I'm the right companion for your family, come see me at Atlanta Humane's Mansell Campus. I was previously altered.
Hiya! My name is Spyky, and I came to the Atlanta Humane Society in search of the perfect home. I am a very sweet and happy puppy who will grow into an adult dog with lots of love to give. I will need my new family to have patience with me as I learn the do's and don'ts of my new home. Sometimes puppies can play too rough, soil the house, or just get into mischief. Don't forget that AHS offers some great obedience classes that can help me become the perfect pet for you! I will need a family who can spend plenty of time loving and playing with me each and every day. I was treated for Heartworms on April 12th and will need to be on restricted activity until May 24th. I have been previously altered and am ready to go home today!!
Hello my name is Chababy , and I am looking for a good home. I am looking for someone to play with and nurture me from time to time. I can also be a pet to relax with after a long day or a pet to talk to when no one is around. I love to be petted and I do require some attention, however I might be nervous being at your new home. So, please take the time to get to know me because I am just looking for love and for someone to love me back. I am at the Atlanta Humane Society patiently waiting to be adopted. I have been previously altered
Hi there! My name is Lucas, and I came to the AHS to find the home of my dreams! I would like to find a family who can take care of all my puppy dog needs. I will need some good food to eat, a warm bed to sleep in, and of course, lots of love and affection! I will also need a patient owner, who understands that all new pets take a little time to learn all the do's and don'ts of a new home. Please be prepared to work with me as I make the transition. If you think you can give me the kind of life I deserve, then drop by for a meet and greet, and find out how to add me to your family today. You'll be so glad you did! I was altered previously.
Hi, my name is Walker! I must go home with my brother, Trubbel, as we are definitely a bonded pair!! I was previously altered. I am also a CATCH OF THE WEEK kitty, which means that since I have been a resident at AHS for more than 30 days, my adoption fee is waived!!
I was rescued from a hoarding situation and was not in great shape. I had heartworm, skin infections, bite wounds, was very scared, and overall didn't feel very well. I have come a long way and am feeling much better, though I still have itchy skin and am slowly coming out of my shell. My doctors say I have allergies and my future parent(s) will continue helping me not be so itchy! I'm very sweet and enjoy being outside in nature. My foster parents take me on hikes, and I enjoy them very much! I am great at riding in the car. I'm pretty scared of crowds and busy places and also get scared of anything very loud or sudden, so a home without children or hyper dogs would be best, at least at this point in my progress. My foster parents have a cat, and that's fine with me! It may take me a little while to really come out of my shell, but I know I will find somebody who will love me for me and be patient with me as I continue learning to trust humans. I am in foster but ready to be adopted! If you are intereste...

Butterscotch is a very friendly senior Pekingnese mix who would make a great companion. She had sume tumors when she came to us. Fostered in a home while she healed. She shined brightly. She has an adorable energy in a home with those that love her. She likes to say "hi" by sitting pretty with her front legs waving in the air begging for your attention. She likes being spoiled and involved with the family fun. She has been around smaller dogs her size and her foster family's friends and family and she did very well. She is a little hard of hearing but not enough to ignore those around her. She has a spunky personality that loves walks and stuffed toys. Her wonderful foster family almost didn't want to give her up! Am I not the cutest?LeftCenterRightRemoveclick to add a caption

Hello I'm Boss. I am a Senior Pitizen here at AHS. I came here with my sister pup, our owner was on the road a lot as a truck driver and didn't have enough time to spend with us.
